What's New
Take a closer look at the 10 most important reasons to acquire the new CorelCAD 2013 now:

    NEW! AutoCAD DWG 2013 support
CorelCAD 2013 now reads the new DWG file format of AutoCAD 2013, enabling full compatibility when working with customers and partners who use this software. Plus, strong read support is paramount for users needing to receive and manipulate files that have been created with the new AutoCAD version. CorelCAD 2013 saves to DWG natively so you enjoy full compatibility, support, features and CorelCAD file attributes.

NEW! More OS support: Windows 8 and Mac OS X Mountain Lion (10.8)
In addition to the existing support for Windows XP, Vista 7 and Mac OS 10.5+, CorelCAD 2013 now offers support for Windows 8 users to access CorelCAD as a Windows 8 Desktop Application, and Mac users can take full advantage of Mac OS X 10.8 (Mountain Lion) features, including full screen application mode.

    Native 64-bit Windows support
Each operating system offers a powerful way to support the workflow process. For Windows users, there is a 64-bit version of CorelCAD to manage and process large CAD files, plus significantly increase workflow performance.

    Improved performance and application speed
With an increase in application speed, both Windows and Mac users will benefit from increased efficiency and enhanced performance. In addition, an improved memory use will expedite the loading process for larger drawings, reducing the loading time by up to 40%.

    NEW! Align viewport tool
With the new functionality within the Viewport command, it’s now easier than ever to arrange the elements of your drawings and gain better, more accurate alignment in sheets. Users no longer have to guess if their locations are precise. Instead, the viewports are aligned by the geometry on the inside of the viewport.

    NEW! Revision cloud tool
Make the review and revision process simpler and more efficient by using the Cloud command to create revision clouds. Revision clouds are used in CAD drawings to highlight areas that require or contain revisions. Drawing areas can be accentuated with specific shapes such as rectangular, elliptical and freehand Clouds. In addition, you can also set the specific layer for a Cloud, the line color, line style and line weight, and also adjust the radius of the sequential arcs of Clouds.

    NEW! DGN Underlay
DGN files originate from MicroStation or other CAD software and you can then specify layer visibility of a DGN Underlay that is a referenced DGN file in a drawing. In addition, you can attach, clip boundaries, layer and detach underlays from current drawings. The underlay functionality allows you to display only part of a DGN Underlay since the entity is clipped at a boundary you create or specify.

    NEW! In-place TEXT editing
CorelCAD now enables text editing right on the screen instead of using a separate dialog for editing text in CAD drawings. This functionality mimics text editing in CorelDRAW and other graphics software applications. With in-place editing, you can modify the definitions of Components, which are Block definitions or referenced drawings in the current drawing known as Elements. For efficiency, the Component instances in the drawing show the changes in real time.

    NEW! ExplodeX command
The ExplodeX command will convert Ellipses and Splines into Polylines. This command is particularly beneficial in preparing drawings to export to other software applications or devices that don’t support Ellipses or Splines, such as legacy engraving devices. Additionally, you can choose the Explode command to explode other complex entities like Blocks.

    NEW! Automation capabilities

    • VSTA (Microsoft Visual Studio Tools for Applications) improvements
The VSTA Manager toolbar allows you to record, edit and run VSTA macros, which enable you to perform repetitive tasks and automate command sequences. Create unique macros using the built-in features of VSTA. The standard macros are created with VSTA’s built-in features, and to create advanced macros you can use the integrated development environment. Best of all, you don’t need programming experience to use macros!

    • NEW! Continued LISP
Take advantage of innovative support for continued lisp commands. CorelCAD supports LISP routines so you can leverage existing custom solutions. The continued LISP support can be leveraged for use with CorelCAD and avoids extra programming steps. Users familiar with LISP in other CAD applications will find CorelCAD programming just as easy to master since it supports the same structure.

A true CAD solution

    Native DWG files
Open, work with and save files in DWG format for worry-free collaboration with colleagues, suppliers and partners. CorelCAD uses DWG as its native file format and offers DXF and DWF support up to AutoCAD 2013 file format versions.

    Industry-standard CAD features
Be productive immediately in an environment filled with familiar features and tools. CorelCAD is compatible with all major CAD programs, so experienced users will feel comfortable with the familiar command bar, command aliases, and menu and toolbar items.

    Efficient user interface
Work more efficiently with dockable toolbars, right-click shortcut menus and a Properties palette.

    Legacy file format support
Save drawings back to R12 DWG or DXF format to work with them on legacy hardware devices or using older software, and recover damaged DWG and DXF files in all format versions.

Precision 2D drafting tools

    Entity snaps
Use CorelCAD smart tools, such as entity snap, entity snap guides and polar guides to work faster.

    Entity grips
Save time using entity grips to quickly reposition, align, copy or resize entities.

    Properties docker and Property Painter
Manipulate entity attributes, such as layer, color, line style and more with the Properties palette or copy properties from other entities.

    Custom coordinates
Create custom coordinate systems to align the construction plane to drawing objects.

    Smart Dimension tools
Create precise dimensions as aligned or horizontal/ vertical linear dimensions, radial or diameter dimensions or angular dimensions. Let the new Smart Dimension tool suggest the most appropriate dimension type automatically for Lines, PolyLine segments, Arcs, Circles and Rings.

3D design tools for advanced modeling

    3D viewing capabilities
View 3D models from multiple viewpoints or roll them in 3D space interactively. Use Tiled Viewports to split a drawing into multiple view tiles and set them to display your 3D model in different views, such as front, right, top and isometric. Or choose Shaded view or Rendered view to change the display mode.

    3D modeling tools
Add 3D solid primitives to your design and use Boolean operations to unite, intersect and subtract bodies.

    From 2D to 3D
Extrude or revolve 2D entities, sweep 2D entities along a path, or loft between 2D entities to create solid objects.

    Editing solids
Slice and intersect solids, and edit edges, faces and bodies of 3D solids. New advanced editing tools include Filleting Edges of 3D Solids, and coloring, moving, rotating and offsetting individual faces of 3D solids.
